MARCH 10, 2015—NORWALK—Catholic Charities invites the community to the Fourth Annual It’s in the Bag to benefit Miriam House, a transitional housing program for homeless women and their children. MARCH 2, 2015—TOLEDO—Bishop Daniel E. Thomas will speak at a prayer vigil hosted by Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo to mark the mid-point of the 40 Days for Life campaign.  The campaign is being held from February 18 to March 29 as individuals sign up to pray and fast for an end to abortion.  The prayer vigil will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, in the Rosary Cathedral School Gymnasium, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, Ohio. JAN. 30, 2015—Catholic Charities Adult Advocacy Services will host a support group meeting for legal guardians and caregivers to elderly individuals. The meeting will be 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Resurrection Church, 2600 Lexington Ave., Lexington, Ohio 44904. The meeting is open to people of all faiths. JAN. 28, 2015—Helping Hands of St. Louis will host an All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner to raise money for services provided to people in need in East Toledo.  The fundraiser will be Sunday, February 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Helping Hands of St. Louis, 443 Sixth St., Toledo, Ohio. The outreach center provides life transformational services, including a soup kitchen, food pantry and clothing center.  Each month, Helping Hands serves an average of 6,000 hot meals and provides an average of 250 households with groceries and 500 households with free clothing. JAN. 28, 2015—Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is accepting applications for grants to assist local groups working to address causes of poverty in northwest Ohio.  Two types of grants are available — Community Development and Economic Development — and are made available through funding from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).
